Happy, Scared, Excited, Oh My! Promoting Emotional Literacy
Presentation Abstract
This session explores Tier 2 of the Pyramid Model, Targeting Social Emotional Supports, specifically promoting emotional literacy. Participants will be able to identify the importance of teaching social emotional skills and how to teach these skills using stories, and visuals. The training dives into how to enhance emotional literacy skills through intentional teaching and maximizing opportunities for children to practice those skills. Participants in this session will also create their own emotional literacy resource that can be used at home or school to support children as they learn to identify and express their emotions.
