Abstract

Academic writing can be challenging, if not foreign, to student writers. This practice-oriented presentation focuses on best practices in constructivist learning in both high school and first-year composition. Using theories of pragmatic constructivism, the panelists share experiences working with students to make connections between prior/embedded knowledge, literature, and inquiry-based writing.
