Abstract

The purpose of this study is to construct a web-based reading program and to investigate the dynamics of this program by analyzing the perceptions and experiences of the instructors. This study included 30 participating teachers who used this online reading program in universities in Taiwan . The results indicated that this program has helped English as a foreign language (EFL) readers overcome language deficiencies and achieve better reading comprehension as they read online texts. Teachers showed positive attitudes towards this program in terms of the design of its strategy tools, interface design, and learning effects. The objective of this session is to provide attendees the opportunity not only to learn from the study I conducted, but to use this online reading program step by step. Attendees will learn how to select reading materials aimed at students' interests, to utilize the strategy functions, and to monitor students' learning progress in this program.
