Brief Program Description
Sex trafficking victims have often experienced trauma, abuse or neglect prior to being exploited by a trafficker. Victims typically will not self identify or make an outcry for help. They may try to recruit their peers in trafficking. Educators are in a unique position to identify children who are at high risk for becoming victims of sex trafficking. Identifying high risk you will enable early intervention and ideally prevention of trafficking. This session will help educators recognize indicators of high risk youth, learn promising practices for intervention and victim assistance, and provide resources available to educate students and the community.
