Abstract
Depending on the type of higher education institutions, the emphasis on Foreign Language instruction is constantly changing and in some cases, even decreasing. More and more funds are relocated to support new programs which promise to provide students with professional skills such as; problem solving, critical thinking, verbal communication, writing, analytical, interpersonal, to name a few. These skills are certainly needed for the 21st century graduates. This presentation will provide specific examples to demonstrate how Foreign Language instruction is also working towards the presentation and development of important professional skills.
