Primary Presenter Brief Bio

My past work experience includes working as the Manager of Provider Services with the Regional Child Care Resource and Referral overseeing grants and technical assistance to providers to increase or maintain their quality. During my tenure as manager of provider services over 90% of our centers were 4 or 5 stars and 70% of Family Child Care homes were 3 stars or higher according to NC QRIS system. I have a strong knowledge base and extensive experience in facilitating quality improvement for childcare providers.

I have assessed childcare sites as part of my work for UNC-Frank Porter Graham using CLASS, ERS, ELLCO, and CIS assessment tools I have traveled across the US with Debby Cryer and Thelma Harms authors of the Environment Rating Scales as a reliability group leader. Other work experiences include ECE Specialist for Local Smart Start Partnership, including leading a team of consultants for Child Care Aware® of America providing technical assistants to sites surrounding Fort Bragg for the Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood (ACCYN) program to increase quality in their programs. This program consisted of over 50 sites with over a million dollars in revenue.
