This session will cover how to utilize emotional intelligence to provide meaningful feedback while in a leadership role. Several topics will be covered in order to help make feedback more conversational and encourage less defensiveness in recipients of feedback. Initially, the difference between criticism and constructive feedback will be discussed. Different ways to present positive and constructive feedback will be covered. Additionally, the session will include how to understand how individuals may have different emotional responses to receiving challenging feedback.
Presentation Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to differentiate between criticism and constructive feedback. This workshop will demonstrate how to provide both positive and constructive feedback. Additionally, participants will be able to assess an individual’s emotional response to receiving challenging feedback.
