Abstract

Abstract

This paper aims to explore if students diagnosed with dyslexia experience greater anxiety in the classroom setting compared to students without dyslexia. This study surveyed 22 people without a dyslexia diagnosis and 25 people with a dyslexia diagnosis in order to examine any differences comparatively. The results show that there is a positive correlation between students diagnosed with dyslexia and levels of anxiety experienced in school. Math and language arts tend to be the most anxiety provoking for these students. From these findings, it would be beneficial for further research to be done to also see the physiological impacts as well as how we can help prevent anxiety in the classroom in dyslexic students.
