Abstract
It is easy to arrive at the conclusion that Georgia Southern University is a village. It is easy, after only a month, to settle into our cozy, woody environment and feel surprised at the size of our biggest mall. Yes, we currently do not have bicycle lanes. But within a treasure of pines, from humble farm beginnings, stands one university with four campuses. And across those campuses are Eagles being trained to soar. Where academic excellence is only one of the many amazing gifts offered. Where belonging is possible. Where cultures from many places are respected and live together in peace. Where community members are passionate about serving students, and students are just as passionate about giving back to the community. We have numerous businesses that continue to meet our needs. Here, you can be the first - the first in your family to attend college, the first to lead collaboration across campuses, the first officer of a student organization, the first to start a business, the first to believe a bigger future is possible. It may feel quiet, but we know how to make it boom through the glorious radiance of a marching band, a stadium filled with lovers of sport, or an entire college building alive with scholars eager to present their newest discoveries. And in every season of life, there are resources waiting - whether you are leaving home for the first time, needing care, caring for your family, raising children, serving your country, or nurturing your furry, feathered, or scaly companions. We are here to serve you holistically - physically, mentally, financially, socially, and spiritually. Because Georgia Southern is more than a university. It is a place where people grow and learn how to soar.
