Abstract
This applied research project examines workforce development challenges in healthcare supply chains through a joint project between Piedmont Healthcare and Georgia Southern University. Student teams conduct immersive site visits to healthcare and leading commercial supply chain operations to compare logistics systems, technology integration, organizational culture and career pathways. Through interviews and operational analysis, the team benchmarks best practices and identifies perception gaps limiting student interest in healthcare supply chain careers. The project will culminate in fall 2026 with a presentation to the Bellwether Foundation League of actionable recruitment and experiential learning strategies designed to attract next-generation talent, strengthen workforce pipelines and support strategic improvement in patient-centered healthcare supply chain performance.
