Evaluation of Concrete Slab Defects using Nondestructive Testing (NDT)
Poster 182
Reinforced concrete is one of the most used materials in construction because of its versatility, sustainability, and cost. Like all structural materials, concrete structures are prone to damage and deterioration, and effective methods to evaluate and maintain concrete structures are necessary to avoid failure. Nondestructive testing (NDT) methods are used to find defects in a structure before failure. NDT methods can test properties such as compressive strength, density, Poisson's ratio, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, shear strength, water content, and permeability.
