Background
The goal of our project is to design an entirely off grid solar powered water procurement and filtration system that would be able to be utilized worldwide for people who do not have access to a stable power grid or clean drinking water. We utilized solar power to generate electricity for DC pumps to relocate water out of the well or other body of freshwater and through a 3-stage filtration system into a holding tank for consumption. This project will not only be environmentally friendly due to the solar power and repurposed batteries, but it will also have a strong ethical impact on those who need access to fresh drinking water.
