Relevance
While this presentation relates to several standards, it most closely relates to the Academic Achievement and Leadership. The focus is on implementing change by bridging the gap within students, staff, and parents.
Brief Program Description
Education generations are constantly changing and each generation creates its own challenges. Schools have to adjust and create strategies to meet the generational challenges for students, staff, and parents.
Summary
Right now, significant changes are happening in K-12 classrooms, with students, staff, and in homes as the older generation is gradually giving way to the new normal. The consequences of these transitions explain much of what is going on in K-12 education today why so many are labeled at risk. Students who are considered at risk have unique challenges that require unique solutions. In this session, we will discuss strategies that effectively motivate them and help them learn to think critically and empower them to achieve academically while creating an environment for their success. We will also present how the Delta Innovative School created an non-traditional way to create a positive, safe, alternative academic environment where students can earn their high school diploma in a blended, non traditional setting while focusing on providing our students the support they need to maximize instructional time and ensure student success.
