Brief Program Description
This workshop will invite participants to identify their current knowledge and biases related to youth who are experiencing homelessness. Presenters will share information gathered from focus groups of youth in Louisville, KY, who have utilized the services of the YMCA Safe Place Services. The presenters will walk the participants through the top five things that youth want the adults in their lives to understand, highlighting resiliency factors for this specific population. Finally, presenters will work with participants in developing the skills of understanding and expressing empathy with this population. Participants will gain a greater knowledge for working with this population. 2:45 – 4:00 p.m. (Session 7) #

Biographical Sketch
Sister Corbin was born in Elizabethtown, Ky. Currently, she ministers as the Youth Development Coordinator for the YMCA Safe Place Services in Louisville, Ky.
Sister Corbin entered the Congregation on Sept. 14, 2009, from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Indianapolis.
She graduated from the University of Indianapolis with bachelor’s degrees in German and youth ministry.
Sister Corbin has ministered in Indiana and Kentucky.
