Summary
We look for educational tools that encourage students to express themselves, gain confidence, and participate in and out of class. A simple thing, though has been missing from our school week: time build into the schedule for teachers and students to talk and work through activities that focus on developing our personal qualities. These ideas help all to face the every day challenge of finding the right combination of strategies to reinforce our teaching methods and support our personal and professional development.
Evidence
These proven ideas have been implemented in a number of school districts in West Virginia and North Carolina and practitioners comment that it does make a practical common sense difference related to school dropouts and discipline issues.
