Summary
This article explores issues surrounding the four day school week. It addresses the advantages and disadvantages of the four day school week. It provides useful strategies and techniques to professional school counselors to assist in the implementation of this system. It also advises and promotes school counselors use of advocacy and leadership skills within their respective schools. In addition it provides guidelines for school counselors in the planning and implementation at all school levels.
It addresses an issue that many schools, districts, and counties confront regarding the most effective and efficient method to educate students. The Four-Day system is an alternative that many systems are embracing and many are considering. I believe this a relevant article for these changing times. This is an original work not under review consideration or previously published elsewhere.
