Students, Schools and Suicide: Lived Experience
Brief Program Description
As a principal, I witnessed the disheartening treatment—subtle and within traditional school culture—cast upon certain students. For all audiences, this presentation will:
- Describe conditions under which students are subjected to mistreatment due to social and emotional difficulties.
- Highlight stories of a student’s school life, committing suicide at age 14.
- Offer methods to address students’ emotional and social needs, particularly suicide.
