Abstract
This qualitative case study explored how embedding vocational training into transition planning influences postsecondary outcomes for students with autism. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document reviews with educators, families, and transition specialists. Findings revealed three key themes: increased student independence, stronger school-to-work alignment, and improved collaboration between schools and community agencies. This presentation will highlight the research design, emergent themes, and implications for practice and policy. Attendees will gain insight into how vocational training supports equitable transition outcomes and how qualitative research can illuminate strategies for improving services for students with disabilities.
