Critical Race Comedy

Abstract

Abstract

Humanity in the Black will explain the connection between the theoretical frameworks of Black Intellectual Traditions and Posthumanism by using the methodology and intellectual power of Critical Race Comedy/Humor. This work is created to assist humans who are assigned a race to acknowledge their humanity without sacrificing dignity for acceptance in the social construct of race. Humanity in the Black contributes to curriculum studies by challenging humans of all professions to recognize the games orchestrated that take away the humanity of people who have been enslaved by color codes rather than respected by their culture. The genius and strategy of comedy compliments the intellectual tradition by assisting the participants to pay attention to words communicated as subliminal punch lines. What intrigues audiences when hearing intellectual comedy is that the laughter usually is produced after they say to themselves “I never thought of it like that.” Humor is good for the human thought process which is needed to solve problems. This presentation is not meant to claim victim-hood of the humans described as black/non-white, nor is it intended to demonize those who benefit from systematic terrorism of men and women worldwide through the social construct of race. However, Humanity in the Black is meant to use comedy to identify the word play that dehumanizes people, and to challenge those who knowingly choose to engage in the race game. Humanity in the Black will engage participants with comedic vision to be utilized to decode the art of deception.
