Presentation Abstract

This presentation will highlight how Mainstay Academy, a member of the Georgia Network of Educational and Therapeutic Supports, has pursued expanding PBIS expectations and involvement beyond the school setting. Mainstay Academy PBIS Ambassadors and staff members will reflect on personal experiences and stories. They will discuss their insights regarding personal growth attributed to PBIS in school and the community.

Mainstay Academy has consistently engaged community members in encouraging a positive lasting change for our students, parents, staff, and other community stakeholders through concentrating on our core values of being safe, respectful, and responsible community members. In creating a positive shared culture through practicing PBIS values, a more informed, tolerant, supportive, and safe community can be accomplished.

Conference Program Description

This presentation will illustrate how Mainstay Academy expanded PBIS expectations and involvement beyond the school setting creating a positive shared culture and a more informed, tolerant, supportive, and safe community. PBIS Student Ambassadors will share how involvement in the PBIS process has helped shape their academic and community values.
