Innovative Practices from Second Step- Supporting Tier 1 SEL with Funding from the State of Georgia for the 21/22 School Year
Biography of Primary Presenter
Forest Walter is a Education Partnerships Manager at Second Step.
Presentation Abstract
This year, social-emotional learning as a foundation to positive behavior support and school climate is more important than ever. It’s also more challenging than ever to support teachers efforts in Tier 1 SEL programming, bullying prevention strategies, and keeping their students safe – whether remote, hybrid or in-person. At a time when needs are at an all-time high and budgets are strained, the state of Georgia Prevention and Community Support Section (PCS) recognizes this challenge, and is once again offering a special funding opportunity to implement the Second Step® family of programs in the 21-22 school year.
