Ignite: Promote Positivity in the Classroom with Funovation Solutions (Group 1), Georgia Southern University (Group 2)
Presentation Abstract
During my 75 minute “Funovations” session, I will model the typical classroom behavior of students and teachers. I will review behavior interventions using a short power point presentation. I will solicit audience participation as I model a few “funovation” solutions and techniques to resolve conflict and promote cooperative teamwork.
Audience members will witness the power of inclusion, rewards, and clear communication of expectations by interacting with their peers and presenters. I will demonstrate how these techniques work across curriculum and can add the fun back into the classroom with research based, standard aligned strategies that will engage the students.
Instead of telling the audience how to modify classroom behavior, I will show them. A few techniques I will demonstrate are the “Smiley Face” of inclusion, the “Listening Ears” science lab, theatrical book reading, Hold on to Your Graces game, the singing artist, and if time permits, a few more!
