Think SEL!
Presentation Abstract
Think SEL!” Embrace yourself! Think Social Emotional Learning (SEL) will ignite a fire through a meet and greet that employs instructional strategies that support SEL. Participants will be empowered to connect with the new generation by employing foundational SEL skills. Participants will utilize the Circle of Power and Respect (CPR) to build a culture of connectedness and respect. Participants will understand how the use of circles in the classroom helps establish a sense of community and equity while setting the stage for Community Gatherings. In the Community Gathering, participants will practice applying skills that promote a caring and kind relationship in a responsible community. Get excited! The Five Core Competencies (Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making) will be used to reinforce social-emotional learning skills through music, critical thinking, problem solving and cutting edge concepts that inspire life-long learners to succeed socially and academically. Parents and community members can take the community gathering and immediately build relationships and establish a sense of connectedness for their students. Join us for “Think SEL!”
