Building Resiliency and Positive Well-Being through the practice of Forgiveness
Presentation Abstract
Forgiveness is a multidimensional, conscious, deliberate decision to release and let go of feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has done harm. Research has demonstrated the importance of teaching the skill of forgiveness as an important component of positive and nurturing school and classroom experience. Within school and all learning environments, the reflection of culture and the climate that we design have a meaningful and important impact in student development. PBS supports use educational procedures to help develop personal skills and competencies that can promote good quality of life. This workshop will explore the importance of understanding the relationship between forgiveness and resiliency and assist participants in identifying the roadblocks to forgiveness. Those attending will have an opportunity to engage in an exercise that will assist them in the practice of forgiveness.
