These two terms are commonly used by educators and requested by parents but frequently misunderstood. In the presentation examples for differentiating instruction with technology are reviewed for the elementary and secondary classroom. Differentiation can be a proactive, positive support to all learners. For students in special education it can be an antecedent modification to help with behavior or an instructional accommodation to help with learning! In general education it is often used to extend the lesson. Differentiation is truly an essential tool for student learning and engagement.
