Presentation Abstract
The mindfulness movement, especially in the context of DBT, is a cornerstone of many behavioral interventions offered for K-12 students. Yoga is an ancient tradition that has been around for centuries to help center students and assist in the regulation of emotions. The presenters conducted a study at Hillside regarding the use of yoga for the regulation of behaviors and this presentation will present those findings and offer suggestions for the use of yoga in the classroom as a Tier-1 and Tier 2 support. Because of the universal accessibility of yoga in the community and in the home, parents could implement this strategy in the home to benefit the entire family.
