Presentation Abstract

By having a mother and son talk about their experiences with Autism in the household, the audience will see into our mindsets, the life lessons we learned, and steps we took to improve my behavior and living style. Through the audience asking their own questions and receiving answers from me and my mother, both dictated by me into my own recorder, the audience will have their hopeful solutions presented to them in a manner that would make any future efforts regarding support strategies more understandable, new processes to be implemented. and they will be able to draw upon the audio files that they helped me to create through their questions and mother and my dictation. Our memories and experiences will give parents, teachers, and support groups ideas and hope to take processes/strategies in new directions that will hopefully reduce difficulties for people with developmental disabilities and behavioral complications. Parents at home can learn from what my mother and I have discussed and try implementing strategies and processes based on our discussion to make life better for their children. And isn't that the goal of every parent? My mother and I will work together as a team to make the concepts for the strategies and processes easier for those who come to us.
