Presentation Abstract

The Georgia State Legislature allocated funds for each RESA district to employ a School Climate and Culture Specialist. The role of the School Climate and Culture Specialist is to support school districts who have committed to changing the school climate through Positive Behavior Supports.

This interactive session will allow participants to explore the PBS tools provided by GaDOE. The presenters will share information on the “spokes” supporting the Georgia PBS RIM. These tools include:

• analyzing data to determine a school or system’s readiness for PBS
• developing action plans based on data
• navigating the PBIS website
• utilizing assessment tools (surveys, walkthroughs, Team Implementation Checklist (TIC), and Benchmarks of Quality (BOQ))
• providing on-going professional learning and support
