Abstract

This presentation will discuss the use of Credo's Information Literacy courseware as a complement to our information literacy program, with particular focus on its integration within the first year courses and programs on our campus. Discussion will include an overview of the Credo Info Lit Courseware, differences between our first year using the Credo Info Lit courseware and our second year, and successes and failures integrating the courseware within curriculums in the following programs: First Year Seminar, Bridge Scholars Program (a learning support community for conditionally admitted students), English 1101 and English 1102. I will also include practical applications of this information literacy tool and future plans for using the courseware in other aspects of the curriculum.

Presentation Description

This presentation will discuss the Credo Information Literacy Courseware and its application within first year courses and programs. Discussion will include: an overview of Credo courseware content, difference between our pilot semester and later semesters, success and failures integrating the courseware in select first year courses and programs, practical applications of the courseware and our department’s future plans for integration in other areas of the core curriculum, and other applications for our information literacy program.
