Abstract
By utilizing the three elements of a generic criticism (situational, stylistic, and substantive), this pentadic analysis discovers if Emma González's speech presented at the Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after the mass tragedy occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School, successfully fulfilled the requirements of an American Jeremiad.
