Curriculum Matters: Redesigning a Middle Grades Program for Pre-Service Teachers
Abstract
The Middle Grades Program at Clayton State University has been effective for pre-service teachers. With the change in needs for schools, there needs to be a change to what is included in the curriculum for new teachers. This paper will discuss the pertinent changes in society that
necessitate a change in curriculum. Issues of diversity have changed since the program's last cumulative program evaluation. With this evaluation, the context of new middle schools will be taken into account.
