Reading In: Reading Groups as Professional Development
Abstract
The discussion’s main focus will be on the ways that reading groups can foster professional relationships and how they can help emerging and new scholars find their “niche” if they are still searching for a focus or way to uniquely establish themselves in their department. The discussion will also briefly cover reading groups as ways to initiate partnerships and build cross-department relationship. We will also discuss how to forge professional relationships with their colleagues through reading groups.
Presentation Description
This discussion will, as well, include outlining and brainstorming how to get a reading group started within the department or area.
