With the ultimate goal of enhanced student success, improved quality of life and identifying health and wellness priorities unique to our campus, we will use the American College Health Association’s National College Health Assessment (ACHA-NCHA) to establish a baseline of students enrolled Spring 2015. Already approved by our University’s Institutional Review Board, 30% of our enrolled students will be randomly selected to complete the ACHA-NCHA. At the completion of data collection, we will be able to identify health status differences among the student population our small public university in the South and compare the baseline data to the ACHA-NCHA national data from Spring 2013. Analysis will also include descriptive statistics such as age, gender, and race/ethnicity to identify any existing health disparities on campus. Additionally, we will use the Spring 2015 data to not only identify needed health promotion programming on campus, but to also identify the next steps towards Healthy Campus 202 implementation.
