Synthesis and Spectral Studies of (2-(furanyl)vinyl)-1-tetralone Chalcones
Ten chalcones were synthesized by the crossed aldol condensation of substituted tetralones with furaldehydes. The products were purified by recrystallization in MeOH/H2O or by column chromatography in hexane/ethyl acetate and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and HRMS. Evaluations of their biological activities are currently underway.
