Description
During emancipation, a goodly number of ex-slaves quickly demonstrated strong personalities which could only be explained by their having been properly [competently] raised as children. In this lecture, Cross will demonstrate how even under impossible conditions, slaves found ways to raise children to be decent human beings. For example, on large plantations, there were nurseries!
