Excerpt: "Overview of College of Education Programs The College of Education offers undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare its students for work in public education, in community agencies, and in higher education. Programs are developed in collaboration with departments across the campus and with professionals in the field of education. The College and its three departments offer degree programs which include: * four majors for the Bachelor of Science in Education degree, * a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, * eight Master of Education degrees, * four Education Specialist degrees, and * two Doctor of Education degrees. See the specific program areas for these degrees at http://coe.georgiasouthern.edu/degreesoffered.html. Fully online programs include the master’s in Accomplished Teaching, Educational Leadership, Instructional Technology, and Instructional Improvement. Other programs offered with an online option are the Ed.S. in Teaching and Learning, the M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration, and the Special Education Concentration of the M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning. The College is fully accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education; its programs are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and other specialized professional associations; and the counselor education program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs."
