Abstract

An interactive facilitated session to explore the benefits and dangers of using entertaining techniques in the classroom. The session will consist of facilitated discussion and group activities. Do you have a topic or learning outcome that you do not look forward to teaching to your students? Bring your specific example to the session and collaboratively we will generate solutions to engage the students. Surveyed results from adjunct and full time faculty will be shared. This session can benefit instructors from all disciplines and individuals that work with instructors (such as trainers, administrators, and instructional designers). Attendees will learn how to use active learning to facilitate learning and how to avoid identified disadvantages of active learning.
