Abstract
This presentation will examine the curricular changes, challenges and innovations that Spanish as a FL has experienced in the last decade or so. It will explore and analyze the new trends specially those which are shaping the profession. It will also the examine the implications these trends are having on the Spanish faculty as well as the responsibility we have with our graduating students.
Brief Bio Note
Dr. Fernando Palacios is an Associate Professor at Mercer University in Macon, GA. His Ph.D. Is in Applied Linguistpics from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. His areas of interest are: Spanish for Specific Purposes, Second Language Acquisition, Spanish in the US, Spanish Pedagogy, Study Abroad.
Dr. Palcios teaches a variety of Spanish classes from Elemetary to upper division Spanish courses.
