Brief Biography

Shameika Corbin is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and has been an educator for 10 years. She is a wife and mom of 2 awesome daughters. Her experience as an Educator includes Bright from the Start Facilitator, teaching experience at Title 1 schools Pre-K through 5th grade in Fulton County Schools and Atlanta Public Schools. She has lead professional development opportunities in areas of Lucy Calkins Reading & Writing Project, English Language Arts, Social Studies, and PBIS in Fulton County Schools as well as Atlanta Public Schools.

Presentation Abstract

The purpose of this presentation is to implement 3-4 effective strategies to reinforce Positive Behavior for students who are affected by mental health issues personally or in their home life. By changing how we approach teaching positive behavior to students who've been impacted by mental health issues, we can in turn change how they approach learning and life.
