The PBIS Coach, Mrs. Kephart had students present lessons on the school news in August and then would have refresher lessons on the school news in January.

This year, at FCMS, we started the first few days of school introducing/ and or reviewing the school expectations. The Graduation Coach/PBIS Coach, Mrs. Kephart visited each 6th grade classroom during the NBI time to introduce herself as PBIS Coach. All teachers in the school taught the basic school-wide expectations. Our language arts teachers taught the school-wide expectations during the academic warm up lessons in their classrooms. PBIS expectations were also reviewed on the school news, covering each area, one week at a time. STOP, WALK, AND TALK is /was taught in the classroom by Mrs. Kephart, PBIS Coach. Mrs. Summers, guidance counselor, teaches anti-bullying lessons at that time as well.

We have two language arts teachers for each grade level (6th through 8th grade). During their academic warm ups each day, they taught the school-wide expectations. 8th grade language arts teachers picked out one of their classes to create a skit for each of the 5 areas on the “Expectations by Setting Matrix”. The skits will be presented on the school news. By involving different faculty members, as well as students in PBIS, you can accomplish a lot more as a school.

Ms. Bice and Mrs. Kephart will facilitate a Problem Solving/Working Smarter Presentation/Discussion regarding PBIS Coaching Roles and Balancing Other Job Responsibilities.
