Presentation Description
Librarians often receive requests from well-intentioned faculty for tours and classes predicated upon unspecified learning objectives, poorly designed library assignments, and unrealistic or outdated expectations of how and why a library session should be conducted. How do librarians say “No” to these types of requests while still saying “Yes”? This discussion will suggest several strategies for negotiating with faculty to incorporate student-centered learning outcomes and best practice pedagogies into library assignments and instruction sessions.
