Abstract

Emerging drugs such as synthetic marijuana and bath salts present critical problems not only for the public but also for law enforcement, public health officials, policy makers, and educators. This book serves both as an introduction to the world of these novel drugs as well as a guide for better management of law enforcement in addressing these issues. It examines the manufacturing, importation, and regionalization of these drugs as well as usage trends. It also explores the media response, political pressures, and public health concerns.
